
MADISON, Wis., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- No. 9 Texas needed 21 points from A.J. Abrams and Damion James's 18 points and 15 rebounds Tuesday to snatch a 74-69 road win over Wisconsin.
The Longhorns got another 16 points and eight rebounds from Gary Johnson on their way to their sixth straight win and a 10-2 record. Their losses have been to Michigan State and Notre Dame, both nationally ranked.
The Badgers (9-3) were led by Trevon Hughes with 18 points and Jason Bohannon with 16. All three of the Badgers' losses have come against ranked opponents.
Wisconsin led 59-56 halftime and the game stayed within a possession down the stretch with the lead trading hands into the final minutes.
Johnson put Texas in control when he banked in a basket with 23.5 seconds for a 72-69 lead.
Texas had a 17-10 edge in offensive rebounds and a 40-25 rebounding edge overall.
