NHL: Vancouver 4, Anaheim 3

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Daniel Sedin's third-period goal, his second score of the game, put Vancouver ahead 4-1 Monday night and the Canucks held on to beat Anaheim 4-3.

Mason Raymond had a goal and an assist and Ryan Kesler scored for the Canucks, who went 3-1 in their four-game homestand and took a one-point lead over second-place Calgary in the Northwest Division.

Curtis Sanford stopped 24 shots and Steve Bernier had two assists for Vancouver.

Bobby Ryan had a goal and two assists and Scott Niedermayer had a goal and one assist for the Ducks, who have lost two of their last three games and are without the services of Teemu Selanne. He is out for up to six weeks because of a lacerated left thigh muscle, suffered when his own right skate sliced his left leg during Friday's 3-2 shootout win at Edmonton.

Sami Pahlsson scored and Corey Perry had two assists for the Ducks, while Jonas Hiller -- in his third straight start -- allowed all four Vancouver goals on 26 shots.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere had been in Montreal due to the death of his father. He was back with the Ducks Monday night but did not play.
