NHL: Edmonton 4, Phoenix 2

EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Sheldon Souray's third-period power-play goal broke a 2-2 tie and the Edmonton Oilers went on to beat Phoenix 4-2 Monday night.

Andrew Cogliano followed Souray's goal with another power-play goal to cap the scoring for Edmonton, which had lost three straight coming into the game. Zack Stortini and Marc-Antoine Pouliot scored for the Oilers and Dwayne Roloson made 27 saves.

Martin Hanzal and Enver Lisin scored and Mikael Tellqvist yielded four goals on 27 shots for the Coyotes, who had won two straight coming in.

Souray scored 45 seconds into the third after picking up a feed from Lubomir Visnovsky.
