Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars said Tuesday their player personnel director James Harris will resign at the end of the NFL season.
Harris, known as "Shack," has held the position since January 2003 when he joined the Jaguars, with head coach Jack Del Rio, after serving in the same role with the Baltimore Ravens.
"I want to thank Shack for his contributions and his hard work in helping us rebuild this team," said Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver.
Harris played 12 seasons in the NFL at quarterback from 1969-81.
The Jaguars, 5-10, end their season Sunday at Baltimore. Much more was expected from Jacksonville, which last year reached the playoffs and won at Pittsburgh in the wild card round before losing at New England in the divisional round.
Gene Smith will replace Harris. Smith has held several positions within the Jaguars' personnel department since 1994 and is one of 15 current staff members who joined the organization in its first year.
