
ATLANTA, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Justin Pogge won his NHL debut and Alexei Ponikarovsky, Matt Stajan and Nik Antropov had nine points Monday when Toronto beat Atlanta 6-2.
Pogge, recalled from Toronto's AHL affiliate Sunday, got the start in goal with Vesa Toskala out with a groin pull. Pogge needed just 19 saves.
Stajan scored twice and had an assist, Ponikarovsky had a goal and two assists, and Antropov had three assists for Toronto, which has won five of its last six games.
Jeremy Williams and Dominic Moore each had a goal and an assist for Toronto.
Colby Armstrong and Todd White scored for the Thrashers, who are 3-8-2 in their last 13 games. Kari Lehtonen, who faced 37 shots in the loss, had made his first appearance in almost two months Saturday after battling a back injury and not playing since Oct. 30.
