NHL: Pittsburgh 4, Buffalo 3 (OT)

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Sidney Crosby made a deflection goal 43 seconds into overtime Monday night to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 4-3 overtime win over Buffalo.

Alex Goligoski gained control of the puck early in the overtime period and passed it to Evgeni Malkin, whose shot came up short, but Crosby tipped it home just below the crossbar for his first goal in 10 games.

Goligoski had two goals and an assist for the Penguins, who rallied from two goals down to win for the third time in five games. Pascal Dupuis also scored and Malkin added three assists for Pittsburgh.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 32 saves to earn his 10th win of the season.

Ales Kotalik and Daniel Paille each had a goal and an assist for the Sabres, who have lost three of four. Ryan Miller stopped 18 shots but suffered his fourth defeat in five starts.
