NHL: New Jersey 3, Philadelphia 2 (SO)

NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Travis Zajac's goal ended a five-round shootout and gave the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 victory Sunday over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Zajac beat Philadelphia goalie Antero Niittymaki with a wrist shot from close range.

Patrik Elias and Brian Rolston scored in regulation for the Devils, who have won three straight games.

New Jersey goalie Scott Clemmensen was credited with 27 saves.

Jeff Carter and Joffrey Lupul each posted a goal and assist for the Flyers.

Niittymaki blocked 24 shots.
