
LAS VEGAS, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Willie Tuitama threw for two touchdowns and ran for one Saturday night and Arizona beat BYU 31-21 in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Tuitama was 24-of-35 passing for 325 yards and Arizona (8-5) won in its first post-season appearance since beat Nebraska 23-20 in the Holiday Bowl in 1998.
Mike Thomas caught four passes for 29 yards and set a Pac-10 record with his 259th career catch. Nic Grigsby rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and Delashaun Dean caught seven passes for 88 yards and a score. Terrell Turner caught four passes for 111 yards.
Max Hall was 30-of-46 passing for 328 yards and a touchdown and one interception. He also ran for a TD for the Cougars (10-3), who were making their fourth straight appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Harvey Unga rushed 17 times for 71 yards and a TD. Austin Collie caught 11 passes for 119 yards and Andrew George caught two passes for 15 yards and a TD.
