CHICAGO, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Tyler Hansbrough's 25 points and five rebounds Saturday keyed top-ranked North Carolina's 85-63 rout of Valparaiso.
UNC led 41-31 at the break, and turned contest into a laugher by starting the final 20 minutes with a 7-0 run.
The lead swelled to 66-42 after Wayne Ellington's layup with 9:22 left.
Deon Thompson scored 12 with six rebounds. Ellington had 11 points and five assists.
Ty Lawson had 10 points and five assists, while Danny Green added nine points, five rebounds and three assists for the unbeaten Tar Heels (11-0), who equaled a school record with their 11th straight double-digit victory.
Urule Igbavboa and Michael Rogers led Valpo with 16 points apiece.
Howard Little scored nine points with three rebounds, and Erik Buggs scored eight points for the Crusaders (3-7), who have lost three in a row and four of five.
They sank to 0-7 overall in the fifth straight season they faced a top-ranked opponent.
