
HOUSTON, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Durrell Summers scored the clutch points down the stretch Saturday, delivering 22nd-ranked Michigan State a 67-63 upset of fifth-ranked Texas.
Goran Suton, in his second outing since missing six games with a knee injury, scored 18 points and Summers finished with 14 for Michigan State (8-2), which has won four straight since losing to top-ranked North Carolina.
Gary Johnson led the losing Longhorns with 20 points, and Damion James had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Texas (9-2), which had won six straight. Texas's top scorer, A.J. Abrams, was held to 3-of-10 shooting for only eight points.
Summers, wide open on the wing, sank a three-pointer for a 65-63 lead with less than 20 seconds remaining and added the game's final two points on free throws.
