
WASHINGTON, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Chris Wright's team-high 19 points Saturday lifted 13th-ranked Georgetown to a 69-58 win over Mount Saint Mary's.
His three-pointer gave Georgetown its biggest lead, 47-33, with 10:58 left in the second half, and his two free throws with 7 seconds left secured the victory.
DaJuan Summers scored 13 with four rebounds. Austin Freeman scored 10 with seven rebounds, while Jessie Sapp added six points and eight rebounds for the Hoyas (8-1), who have won five in a row since their lone loss, 90-78, against Tennessee Nov. 29 at the Old Spice Classic in Florida.
Kelly Beidler led Iona with 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists.
Sam Atupem scored 12 with eight rebounds, and Jean Cajou added 10 pints for the Mountaineers (3-7), whose losing streak grew to five straight contests.
Their record in the all-time series between the nation's oldest two Catholic universities sank to 5-20.
