VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The Vancouver Canucks have signed free-agent center Mats Sundin to a two-year contract that reports say is worth $20 million.

Sundin, 37, a longtime member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, became a free agent in the off-season.

He had 32 goals and 46 assists but Toronto was 36-35-11 and missed the playoffs.

"We are very excited to have Mats join the Vancouver Canucks," Vancouver General Manager Mike Gillis said. "Mats has proven that he can excel under pressure (and) adds a wealth of experience, leadership and skill to the Canucks."

Sundin played the last 13 of his 17 NHL seasons in Toronto. In his career (1,305 regular season games), he has recorded 555 goals with 766 assists.

His goal total makes him 22nd all-time.

Sundin likely will be in uniform when Vancouver plays Chicago Saturday night.
