COL BKB: Louisville 77, Mississippi 68

CINCINNATI, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Edgar Sosa scored five points in a game-ending, 10-1 run Thursday, bringing No. 9 Louisville a 77-68 victory over Mississippi.

The Cardinals improved to 7-1, their only loss coming Nov. 30 against Western Kentucky. Mississippi is 7-4.

Louisville owned a 17-point lead with 5:30 to play in the first half, but saw it cut to 38-34 at intermission.

Mississippi tied it on Chris Warren's three-pointer with 5:24 remaining in regulation, but the Rebels could manage only one more point the rest of the way.

Earl Clark led the Cardinals with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Samardo Samuels and Preston Knowles had nine each.

David Huertas had 20 for Mississippi.

The game was part of a double header with the University of Cincinnati as host. The Bearcats began the night with a 75-63 victory over Mississippi State.
