EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Mehmet Okur scored 23 points Wednesday in rallying Utah from a 20-point deficit to a 103-92 decision over New Jersey.
The Jazz scored just seven points in the opening period and seemed headed for an embarrassing setback.
But Utah closed within eight by halftime and produced 72 points in the final two quarters to win in New Jersey for the first time in six seasons.
Kyle Korver gave Utah the lead with 5:24 to play on a jump shot and the Jazz outscored the Nets the rest of the way 22-12.
Paul Millsap and Korver both scored 18 points and Deron Williams added 17 for Utah.
New Jersey was led by 32 from Vince Carter, but the Nets lost for the fourth time in five games.
The seven points the Nets allowed in the first period were the fewest they have ever given up in an opening quarter.
