NBA: Detroit 88, Washington 74

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Allen Iverson scored 28 points Wednesday, helping Detroit pull away in the fourth period for an 88-74 win over Washington.

Rodney Stuckey added 18 points and 11 assists in the Pistons' third straight win.

Washington, losers of four in a row and seven of eight, was led by Mike James with 16.

The Wizards trailed by only three going into the fourth quarter, but Detroit steadily inched in front and took a 10-point lead with 4 minutes to play.

Washington resides in the basement of the Eastern Conference at 4-19 and has won just once on the road all season.
