EAST LANSING, Mich., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- A 26-point effort by Raymar Morgan Wednesday allowed No. 22 Michigan State to hold off The Citadel 79-65.

Chris Allen and Durrell Summers both had 12 points and Delvon Roe had 10 for Michigan State. The Spartans (7-2) won their third straight.

The Bulldogs (5-6) were led by 17 points from Austin Dahn. The Citadel has dropped three straight.

Although Michigan State scored the first eight points of the game, its lead was still eight at halftime.

Not until the Spartans put together a 10-4 run for a 59-45 lead could they begin to feel comfortable and the Bulldogs came no closer than 10 the rest of the way.

Michigan State shot 57 percent from the field in the first half in a tune-up for a meeting with Texas Saturday.
