EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Shaun Ellis scored on an 11-yard fumble return late in the fourth quarter Sunday, delivering the New York Jets an improbable 31-27 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Ellis' touchdown, with 2:06 remaining, the Jets' team-record fifth by their defense this season, capped a wild fourth quarter with four lead changes.

On the play, Ellis scooped up a fumble by Buffalo quarterback J.P. Losman on a second-down play at Buffalo's 27-yard line.

Brett Favre completed 17-of-30 passes for 207 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Thomas Jones scored once on 20 carries for 78 yards, and Leon Washington scored on a 47-yard, second-quarter sprint for the Jets (9-5), who stopped a two-game skid.

Losman went 24-of-39 for 148 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.

Marshawn Lynch gained 127 yards on 21 carries, and Rian Lindell added two field goals for the Bills (6-8), who have lost eight of their last 10 games after a 4-0 start.
