CORAL GABLES, Fla., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Jack McClinton scored 24 points Sunday and No. 25 Miami fought off a second-half comeback to defeat Robert Morris 70-62.

The Hurricanes improved to 7-2, but not without a scare from the Colonials. Robert Morris trimmed a 12-point halftime deficit to two with 6 minutes remaining. Miami then ran off seven in a row to blunt the Colonials' charge.

Miami got 11 points each from Dwayne Collins and James Dews. Robert Morris (4-5) was led by 13 points from both Jimmy Langhurst and Gary Wallace.

Both teams shot a mere 41 percent from the field, but Miami made 20 free throws to just five for Robert Morris.
