OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo brought Memphis back from a 21-point deficit Wednesday to a 108-102 victory over hapless Oklahoma City.
The Grizzlies outscored the Thunder by 13 in the fourth quarter and managed to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Oklahoma City saw its record drop to 2-21.
Gay scored 22 points and Mayo had 18. Mayo has scored in double figures in all 22 games of his rookie season, giving him the third longest such streak at the beginning of a career in NBA history.
He passed Magic Johnson into third place behind Dan Issel (27) and Bobby Jones (24).
Mike Conley scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to help Memphis finish off its comeback. The Grizzlies' 21-point deficit came early in the second quarter, but an 18-4 run to finish off the period got them within seven at halftime.
Kevin Durant led Oklahoma City with 28 points.
