COL BKB: Louisville 78, Lamar 56

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Samardo Samuels had 15 points Monday to lead the 10th-ranked Louisville Cardinals to a 78-56 win over Lamar in the Marques Maybin Classic final.

Jerry Smith added 12 points and Terrence Williams had 13 rebounds for Louisville (5-1), which played host for the tournament and reached the final with victories over Indiana State and Ohio.

Louisville remained perfect at home, getting 31 points from the bench in the win.

Jay Brown had 16 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots for Lamar (6-3). Kenny Dawkins added 13 points.
