NHL: New Jersey 2, Montreal 1

MONTREAL, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Zach Parise scored just 31 seconds into overtime Saturday, giving the New Jersey Devils a 2-1 win over Montreal.

Jamie Langenbrunner (unassisted) scored his fourth goal this season at 4:05 of the second period to create a 1-1 tie, and there was no other scoring before regulation ended.

Scott Clemmensen stopped 25-of-26 shots for the Devils, winners in seven of their last eight games.

The Canadiens' Matt D'Agostini scored his third goal of the season at 15:35 of the first with assists by Andrei Markov and Saku Koivu.

Carey Price was credited with 29 saves on 31 shots for the Canadiens, whose three-game winning streak ended.

New Jersey's Brian Gionta had an eight-game point streak broken.

On the power play, New Jersey went 1-for-4, and Montreal went 0-for-5.
