NHL: Detroit 5, Chicago 4 (SO)

DETROIT, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk scored the lone goal of a shootout Saturday when the Detroit Red Wings earned a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Regulation ended in a 4-4 tie after Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg (power play) and Marian Hossa scored in the third period. Valtteri Filppula and Jiri Hudler also scored in regulation, while Ty Conklin made 28 saves on 32 shots in the Red Wings' third win in a row.

Conklin added three more stops in the shootout.

Jonathan Toews scored twice to lead Chicago. Andrew Ladd had a goal and an assist.

Patrick Sharp (power play) scored once, while Cristobal Huet gave up four goals on 30 shots for the Blackhawks, who have lost four of their last five games.

Chicago went 2-for-3 on the power play while Detroit finished 1-for-3 with the man-advantage.
