NHL: Buffalo 4, Tampa Bay 3

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Derek Roy had a goal and an assist Saturday night to lead the Buffalo Sabres' 4-3 win over Tampa Bay.

Roy's seventh goal this season, at 10:03 of the third period, proved to be the game-winner.

Drew Stafford had a goal and two assists. Thomas Vanek and Jochen Hecht also scored, while Ryan Miller stopped 20-of-23 shots for the Sabres, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Martin St. Louis and Vaclav Prospal both had a goal and an assist to lead Tampa Bay. Paul Ranger scored once.

Vincent Lecavalier had two assists, while Mike Smith was beaten four times on 27 shots in the Lightning's seventh straight loss.

Both teams were 0-for-6 on the power play.
