SUNRISE, Fla., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Manny Fernandez recorded his first shutout this season Saturday by stopping the 27 shots he faced in the Boston Bruins' 4-0 win over the Florida Panthers.
The red-hot Bruins have a four-game winning streak with their latest victory.
The only goal Fernandez would need was Michael Ryder's sixth of the season at 9:02 of the first period. Phil Kessel (power play) scored his team-leading 16th at 2:44 of the second, and Shane Hnidy and Blake Wheeler scored one goal apiece.
Kessel has scored six times in his last five games.
David Krejci had three assists for the Bruins, winners in eight of their last nine outings.
Florida's Craig Anderson was beaten three times on 27 shots and, in relief, Tomas Vokoun yielded one goal on five shots for the Panthers, who have lost nine of their last 12 contests against Boston.
Boston went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Florida failed to score on two opportunities.
