
TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Tyrod Taylor rushed for two touchdowns Saturday, helping No. 25 Virginia Tech topple 17th-ranked Boston College 30-12 to capture its second straight ACC title.
Last season, Tech beat Boston College 30-16.
Saturday, Taylor scored on short runs in the first and second quarters and completed 11-of-19 passes for 84 yards.
Darren Evans scored among his 31 carries for 98 yards, and the Hokies (9-4, 6-3 ACC) won despite gaining just 234 total yards to 307 for BC.
Following their 24-7 advantage bridging the third and fourth quarters, they earned a BCS spot in the Orange Bowl.
Rich Gunnell led Boston College with one touchdown on seven receptions for 154 yards.
Quarterback Dominique Davis completed 17-of-43 passes for 303 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, while Montel Harris rushed for only 33 yards on nine carries for the Eagles (9-4, 5-4), whose four-game winning streak ended.
