NORMAN, Okla., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Blake Griffin had 25 points and six rebounds Thursday, leading sixth-ranked Oklahoma's 73-72 win over unranked Southern California.

Griffin scored 15 points in the second half, including two free throws to give OU a 71-68 lead with 1:43 remaining. His older brother, Taylor, had 10 points, eight rebounds and four of OU's six blocked shots.

Taylor Griffin's two free throws gave Oklahoma what turned out to be an insurmountable 73-70 lead with 38 seconds left.

Austin Johnson added 17 points for the Sooners (7-0), who beat Purdue to win the NIT Season Tip-Off title in their most recent outing last Friday. With Thursday's victory, they avenged a 66-55 loss to the Trojans last season.

USC was led by Dwight Lewis' 25 points. Taj Gibson scored 12 with 10 rebounds, and DeMar DeRozan added 10 points with four rebounds for the Trojans (5-3) -- who lost freshman Leonard Washington after he was ejected for elbowing Blake Griffin below the belt early in the second half.
