Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DETROIT, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- A 25-point, 11-rebound effort from Tyler Hansbrough Wednesday sent No. 1 North Carolina storming past 12th-rated Michigan State 98-63.
The Tar Heels dominated yet another opponent to run their record to 8-0. The game was played at Ford Field, site of this season's Final Four.
The smallest margin of victory for North Carolina this season has been 15 points. Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington both had 17.
North Carolina will not play again until Dec. 13, when the Tar Heels will host Oral Roberts.
Michigan State (4-2) was led by Raymar Morgan with 21. The Spartans shot just 34.8 percent from the field. They made only seven field goals in the second half.
