
OTTAWA, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Alex Auld stopped 19-of-20 shots Wednesday, leading the Ottawa Senators' 5-1 rout of the Atlanta Thrashers.
The only goal he yielded was scored by Eric Boulton at 2:53 of the first period. Auld did not crack under 10 shots in the second period and five others in the third.
Dany Heatley had a goal and two assists.
Daniel Alfredsson and Brendan Bell had one goal and one assist, and Shean Donovan also scored once for the Senators, who had not played since their sixth straight road loss, 4-2 against the New York Islanders last Saturday.
Alfredsson has 16 goals and 18 assists in his last 27 games against Atlanta.
Netminder Ondrej Pavalec was beaten five times on 34 shots for the Thrashers, who sank to 1-7-1 following a season-high five-game winning streak.
On the power play, Ottawa went 2-for-3, while the Thrashers failed to score during six man-advantage opportunities.
