COL BKB: Syracuse 88, Cornell 78

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Jonny Flynn helped 20th-ranked Syracuse rally from a 16-point, first-half deficit Wednesday to an 88-78 decision over Cornell.

The Orange remained unbeaten in eight outings this season, but had to work much harder than expected to dispatch the Big Red.

Flynn scored 24 points, Paul Harris added 21 and Eric Devendorf chipped in 15. Syracuse shot 56 percent from the field and still could not move in front for good until going on a 12-0 run midway through the second half.

Ryan Wittman made nine three-point attempts and scored 33 points for Cornell (4-4).

Cornell led for the entire first half, building as much as a 25-9 advantage. Syracuse went to the foul line 38 times (making 27) while Cornell shot just seven free throws.
