AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Five players scored in double figures and the balanced attack helped seventh-ranked Texas record an effortless 77-56 victory against Rice.
In an all-around outing, leading scorer Justin Mason accumulated 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Gary Johnson scored 12 points with eight rebounds. Damion James scored 12, Connor Atchley 11 and A.J. Abrams 10 points for the Longhorns (5-1), whose lone loss was 81-80 to eighth-ranked Notre Dame Nov. 25.
Sunday's victory gave them a commanding 132-59 series advantage over Rice, including an 80-54 decision last season.
Rice was led by reserve Lucas Kuipers' 19 points and three rebounds.
He was the only player in double figures for the Owls (2-4), who trailed by just 37-30 at the break.
Connor Frizzelle, Rodney Foster and Trey Stanton all scored seven points, while Cory Pflieger had six points and eight rebounds.
