
UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Led by Freddy Meyer's two goals and one assist Saturday, the New York Islanders recorded a 4-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.
He scored his second goal this season 35 seconds before the second period ended and his third at 1:57 of the third period. Myer had assisted on Andy Hilbert's sixth goal at 12:41 of the first.
Trent Hunter scored his 10th goal into an empty net with one minute left in third period. Andy Sutton had two assists,.
Goalie Joey MacDonald stopped 19-of-21 shots for the Islanders, who have beaten the Senators three times this season.
Ottawa's goals were scored by Dany Heatley in the first period and Daniel Alfredsson in the third.
Netminder Alex Auld allowed three goals on 24 shots for the Senators, who have lost seven of their last nine contests, and have lost six straight road games.
The Islanders were 0-for-5 on the power play, while Ottawa went 0-for-1.
