CORVALLIS, Ore., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Jeremiah Masoli threw for three touchdowns and ran for another Saturday, helping No. 18 Oregon beat No. 17 Oregon State 65-38.
Jeremiah Johnson rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown as Oregon blocked the Beavers' bid for an outright Pac-10 championship and Rose Bowl berth.
The Ducks (9-3, 7-2 Pac-10) had 694 yards of total offense to keep alive an outside shot to earn a share of the Pac-10 title. Oregon would need USC to lose in its finale against UCLA, creating a three-way tie atop the standings.
Masoli was 11-of-17 for 274 yards and ran for 53 yards. LeGarrette Blount ran for 112 yards while scoring once for Oregon.
Lyle Moevao had five touchdown passes on 27-of-51 attempts and 374 yards but also had two interceptions that resulted in 14 Oregon points. The Beavers (8-4, 7-2) were trying for their first Rose Bowl appearance since 1965. OSU also had its six-game winning streak snapped.
