Tellqvist turned away 17 shots in the second and 14 others in the third.

Phoenix got one goal each from Derek Morris in the first period and Kevin Porter in the second.

Overall, the Coyotes have won two in a row on the heels of a six-game losing streak.

Netminder Peter Budaj gave up two goals on 20 shots for the Avalanche, who have dropped four of their last six games.
