BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Third-period goals by Drew Stafford and Paul Gaustad Friday rallied Buffalo past Pittsburgh 4-3.

Stafford's second goal of the game, coming 3:11 into the third, tied the contest and Gaustad produced the game-winner with a wrist shot that got past John Curry with 3:24 to play.

After losing five in a row, Buffalo has won two straight. Ryan Miller helped the Sabres end a five-game losing streak against Pittsburgh by making 27 saves.

Sidney Crosby scored twice for the Penguins, losers of two out of three. Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin ran his NHL-leading assist total to 27 with two against the Sabres.

Curry, undrafted out of Boston University, made his first career start and stopped 32 shots. He picked up the win Wednesday against the New York Islanders in his NHL debut, stopping 11 shots after replacing Dany Sabourin midway through the second period.
