NHL: Boston 7, N.Y. Islanders 2

BOSTON, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Five players scored in the third period Friday and Boston downed the New York Islanders 7-2, the fifth win in its last six games.

Two goals were scored in man-advantage situations.

Boston led 2-1 entering the final 20 minutes before Blake Wheeler, David Krejci, Dennis Wideman (power play), Michael Ryder (power play), and Phil Kessel all found the back of the net against starter Joey McDonald and backup goalie Peter Manino.

In the second period, Chuck Kobasew (power play) and Michael Ryder (unassisted) scored once each.

Marc Savard and Matt Hunwick had two assists each, Kessel, Krejci and Wheeler all had one assist, while Boston goalie Manny Fernandez made 22 saves on 24 shots.

New York's goals were scored by Nate Thompson in the first period and Richard Park (power play) in the third.

Before the contest, Boston held a moment of silence for former player and coach Armond "Bep" Guidolin, who was 82 when he died this week.
