DETROIT, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Detroit Pistons guard Allen Iverson faces a hefty fine after skipping practice Thursday, the Detroit Free Press reported.
The 12-year veteran from Georgetown has never been a fan of practice, but said recently that he needed it to adjust to his new teammates.
He was the lone no-show at Thursday morning's session.
Iverson was acquired from Denver on Oct. 3 for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess.
"I'm surprised when guys are late," Coach Michael Curry told the newspaper. "It's a pretty hefty fine to be late, or to miss, and once again, it's accountability for yourself and your teammates."
The session was scheduled after Detroit's 110-96 loss to the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
The amount of Iverson's fine was not disclosed, and Curry said Iverson will not start Friday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
