MAUI, Hawaii, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Tyler Hansbrough, showing no ill effects of his recent injury, scored 34 points Wednesday to send North Carolina romping past Notre Dame 102-87.

The top-ranked Tar Heels won the Maui Invitational title with a solid victory over the No. 8 team in the country.

Hansbrough, playing for only the second time after suffering a leg injury, made 13 of his 19 attempts from the field.

Ty Lawson added 22 points and 11 assists for the Tar Heels (6-0) and was named the tournament's most valuable player. Deon Thompson added 19.

The Tar Heels have won all of their six games by at least 15 points.

Notre Dame's Kyle McAlarney set a school record with 10 three-pointers and scored 39 points.
