COL BKB: Georgetown 58, Wichita State 50

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Austin Freeman's 18 points and four rebounds Thursday led No. 16 Georgetown to a 58-50 win over Wichita State at the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Fla.

He sank two free throws with 38 seconds left, giving Georgetown an insurmountable 54-46 advantage.

Ramon Clemente's layup had drawn Wichita State within 43-42 with 6:18 left.

GU led 26-22 at the break, and Jessie Sapp's two free throws with nine seconds remaining clinched the victory.

DaJuan Summers scored 14 with four rebounds.

Greg Monroe scored 11 with four rebounds, while Chris Wright added four points and five assists for the Hoyas (3-0), who face Tennessee in Friday's second round.

The Volunteers were a 78-64 winner against Siena.

Wichita State was led by David Kyles' 11 points.

Clemente, the only other player in double figures, added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Shockers (2-2), who held a 38-35 margin in team rebounding.
