NHL: Pittsburgh 5, N.Y. Islanders 3

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins erupted for four goals in the third period Wednesday in a come-from-behind 5-3 win against the New York Islanders.

Evgeni Malkin scored three times in the third, his first hat trick this season. He also assisted on Sydney Crosby's goal at 6:18 of the third.

Brooks Orpik had a goal and an assist, while netminders Dany Sabourin and John Curry combined to make 22 saves on 25 shots for the Penguins, whose record is 8-1-1 in their last 10 games.

Sabourin, who entered the game with a 1.66 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage, was yanked after surrendering three goals on 14 shots.

Curry, making his NHL debut, stopped the 11 shots he faced.

New York's Trent Hunter had a goal and an assist.

Doug Weight and Bill Guerin also scored, while Joey MacDonald made 25 saves on 29 shots for the Islanders, who had a two-game win streak snapped.
