RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Antero Nittymakki stopped 27 of 28 shots Wednesday, backstopping the Philadelphia Flyers' 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
The victory gave Philadelphia a season-high six-game winning streak.
The lone goal Nittymakki gave up was scored by Chad LaRose at 1:52 of the second period.
Simon Gagne had two goals, his second into an empty net with 1 second remaining in the third period. He also assisted on Matt Carle's goal earlier in the third.
Netminder Cam Ward surrendered two goals on 26 shots in the Hurricanes' third straight loss.
There were no power play goals on eight combined man-advantage chances.
