TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Markus Naslund and Nikolai Zherdev scored to bring a quick end to an overtime shootout Wednesday and hand the New York Rangers a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay.

The shootout lasted only two rounds, with Henrik Lundqvist stopping both shots he faced and Mike Smith giving up goals on both shots he tried to stop.

Lundqvist made 27 saves in regulation and overtime, helping bring the Rangers their second win in a row and their fifth in seven games.

Tampa Bay has lost seven out of eight.

Naslund also scored both Rangers goals in regulation, boosting his total for the year to 10. His power-play goal with 3:03 left in the second period gave New York a 2-1 lead.

Mark Recchi forced overtime and earned the Lightning a point when he scored with 50 seconds remaining in regulation -- tipping in a shot from Martin St. Louis.
