Tommie Harris' wife dies

DENVER, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Peter Budaj bounced back from a struggling effort to make 21 saves Wednesday and lift Colorado over St. Louis 3-1.
Budaj gave up three goals on 19 shots over two periods Monday and was removed from the game in a loss to Anaheim. He was solid, however, against the Blues, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
The only goal Budaj allowed came on a slap shot from Keith Tkachuk at 4:52 of the second that boosted the Blues into a 1-1 tie.
But Cody McLeod put Colorado back in front on the power play at 10:06 and Ian Laperriere gave the Avalanche some insurance at 8:11 of the third.
Manny Legace gave up three goals on 25 shots.
