NHL: Buffalo 3, Boston 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Ryan Miller was credited with 27 saves on 29 shots Wednesday while leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins.

He gave up goals by Matt Hunwick in the second period and Phil Kessel in the third.

Buffalo's Derrick Roy scored twice in the first period, once unassisted at the 18:37 mark.

At 5:01 of the second, Jochen Hecht scored his second goal this season shorthanded and unassisted for the Sabres, who snapped a season-high five-game losing streak.

Goalie Tim Thomas yielded three goals on 23 shots for the Bruins, who had earned at least a point in 10 straight games (9


1) before Wednesday's defeat.

Kessel extended his point streak to a career-best seven games (four goals, four assists), while Hunwick has a five-game point streak (three goals, three assists).

Both clubs went 0-for-2 on the power play.
