CLEVELAND, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn, made the starter three games ago, has been lost to the Browns for the rest of the season because of a broken finger.
Quinn broke the index finger on his right -- passing -- hand Nov. 17 during Cleveland's 29-27 win over the Buffalo Bills. It was his first victory as an NFL starting quarterback.
Browns Coach Romeo Crennel on Wednesday said Quinn would "need time or surgery" for the injury to heal. He said Quinn will decide later whether to have surgery.
He tried to play with the injury last week but was just 8-of-18 passes for 94 yards and two interceptions before being lifted for Derek Anderson.
Anderson is expected to take over the starting role Sunday when Cleveland plays the Indianapolis Colts.
