VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Sami Salo scored in overtime Monday night to give the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 win over Detroit.

Earlier Monday, Vancouver learned that goaltender Roberto Luongo would be out of action indefinitely with a strained groin, suffered during the Canucks' victory over Pittsburgh Saturday.

Daniel Sedin and Taylor Pyatt scored in regulation for Vancouver, which has won four straight games. Salo had an assist and Curtis Sanford -- in the net for Luongo -- stopped 32-of-34 shots.

Mikael Samuelsson and Pavel Datsyuk scored for the Red Wings, who came into the game on a five-game winning streak. Chris Osgood let in three goals and stopped 21 shots.

The Red Wings went up 2-1 at 16:25 of the third period when Datsyuk scored on the power play, but the Canucks tied it a little over a minute later when Sedin scored on a deflected slapshot by Salo.
