
MEMPHIS, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Manu Ginobili scored 12 points in his first game of the season Monday when the San Antonio Spurs posted a 94-81 win over Memphis.
Ginobili, the Spurs' leading scorer last season with a 19.5 average, missed the pre-season and the first 12 games of the regular season while recovering from off-season surgery on his left ankle. The 6-foot-6 Argentinean was hurt during his country's semifinal loss to the United States at the Olympic Games.
George Hill had 20 points and Roger Mason 18 for the Spurs, who have won five of their last six games. Tim Duncan had 14 points and 11 rebounds.
O.J. Mayo had 26 points for the Grizzlies, who have lost seven of their last eight games. Rudy Gay added 13 points and 10 rebounds and Darko Milicic had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
