DENVER, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Don Baylor, Colorado's first manager, returned to the Rockies Monday when he was named hitting coach for the 2009 season.

Baylor, 59, was manager of the Rockies from 1993-96 and the Chicago Cubs from 2000-02. He was also with the Mets as a bench coach (2003-04) and as a hitting coach.

Former major league manager Jim Tracy was named as bench coach of the Rockies. He most recently managed the Pittsburgh Pirates (2006-07), after completing a five-year run (2001-05) as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Rockies also named Rich Dauer third base coach, Jim Wright bullpen coach and Brian Jordan strength and conditioning coach.
