NHL: St. Louis 2, Minnesota 1

ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Brad Boyes scored the game-winner Saturday when the St. Louis Blues recorded a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild.

Boyes' 10th goal this season (power play) snapped a 1-1 deadlock at 12:47 of the second period. His ninth goal had created a 1-1 tie at 2:40 of the second.

Chris Mason made 31 saves on 32 shots for the Blues, who have won three of their last four games.

Minnesota averted a shutout when Stephane Veilleux scored at 1:54 of the second period. Niklas Backstrom was beaten twice on 26 shots in the Wild's second straight loss.

On the power play, St. Louis went 1-for-2, and the Wild failed to score on five man-advantage chances.
