
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Randy Foye's 23 points and 14 assists Sunday led the Minnesota Timberwolves' surprising 106-80 rout of the Detroit Pistons.
Minnesota used a 32-18 third period to take a 76-52 lead into the fourth.
Foye scored 10 points in the second period when Minnesota established control. Ryan Gomes scored 20 points with seven rebounds.
Al Jefferson had 19 points and eight rebounds, while Craig Smith added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Timberwolves, who won for the first time in six tries on the road this season. They have won two of three following an eight-game losing streak.
Detroit was led by Tayshaun Prince with 20 points and four rebounds. Jason Maxiell, the only other Detroit player in double figures, scored 12 points with eight rebounds.
Allen Iverson was held to nine points, while Rasheed Wallace added seven points and 10 rebounds for the Pistons, losers of two straight and three of four.
