LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Samardo Samuels scored 24 points Sunday to lead third-ranked Louisville's 81-54 rout of South Alabama.

After a three-pointer by USA's Domonic Tilford created a 5-5 deadlock in the game's opening minutes, Louisville built a 39-27 advantage by halftime, and USA faced a double-digit deficit the entire second half.

Terrence Williams scored 12 points with seven assists and seven rebounds. Earl Clark scored 12 with five rebounds and Edgar Sosa added 11 points for the Cardinals (2-0), who have won both their games easily to start the season.

Tilford and Brandon Davis led South Alabama with 16 points apiece. Davis added 12 rebounds, but no other player scored in double figures for the Jaguars (2-2), who lost despite a 39-33 rebounding advantage.

They committed 22 turnovers.
